With no shortage of places to drink with your dog in San Diego, we’ve narrowed it down to five pooch-friendly breweries here. But, have no fear… you can find plenty of more places to imbibe with Bowzer in the CityDog Directory, updated with new stuff every day!
Coronado Brewing Co. (multiple locations; coronadobrewing.com) When Coronado Brewing Co. (pictured above and below) opened the doors to its beach town brewpub on Coronado Island in 1996, they wanted it to be the kind of place where friends could enjoy great beer, a good meal and a laid-back atmosphere. Now, their award-winning beer is available coast to coast, and canines are allowed at their three San Diego locations. They even have their own CBC dog collar (see IG post below)!
Fall Brewing Company (4542 30th Street, San Diego; fallbrewingcompany.com) Since 2014, the folks at Fall Brewing Company have been doing what they want, when they want including creating crisp, clean lagers, hop forward IPAs and sours and stouts. Head to the brewery at North Park, pick your flavor from over 20 beers on tap, grab a bite from the food truck, then head to the patio with your pooch.
Stone Brewing (2816 Historic Decatur Road, San Diego; stonebrewing.com) The enormous Liberty Station location includes outdoor bocce ball courts, a dog-friendly patio and an Astroturf field where Stone screens movies during summer family nights. The bar features 40 taps of exceptional craft beers, including Stone’s year-round and special releases as well as beers from other small breweries and an extensive bottle list of craft and specialty beers from around the world.
OB Brewery (5041 Newport Avenue, San Diego; obbrewingco.com) OB Brewery is your home away from home, with rooftop ocean views and friendly vibes. Located in the center of the Ocean Beach community, OB collaborates with local breweries, offering award winning house brews and a wide selection of the best local taps for every beer palate. The menu selection is hand crafted and made fresh daily to complement their beer options. Enjoy shuffleboard, foosball, firepits and daily happy hour specials with friends, human and canine alike — at OB Brewery, it’s inclusive and positive vibes for all!
Thorn Brewing Co. (multiple locations; thorn.beer) The kid- and pooch-friendly tasting room in North Park is stocked with games and children’s books and welcomes four-legged friends to the front bar as well as the spacious back room — but, thirsty doggos can join you at any of Thorn’s three locations including trivia night at Mission Hills (see IG post below)!
